The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency commissioner has made a preliminary determination to reissue a wastewater permit for the KOA Campground east of Hayward, according to a press release.
The privately owned campground operates from May to October each year. It occupies approximately 23 acres of land and includes 85 campsites — 20 of those campsites have sewer and water available at the site.
A public comment period has begun on the issue and will continue until 4:30 p.m. Dec. 31. Comments, petitions and other requests must be received at the MPCA in writing on or before the public comment period end date.
Comments can be mailed to Nancy Heskett, Municipal Division, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, 18 Wood Lake Drive SE, Rochester, MN 55904. Heskett can also be contacted at nancy.heskett@state.mn.us or 507-206-2605.
