Star class: Sibley 2nd-graders

- Second-grade teachers at Sibley Elementary School have been combining literacy and science standards to foster student engagement. Second-graders have been learning how to think like a scientist and become better readers by asking questions and learning more about the scientific method. - Provided
Students conducted various experiments with household items, such as eggs, oranges, gummy bears and pickles, to test their hypotheses. They then used their knowledge to identify cause and effect relationships in stories. Students also learned about simple machines and demonstrated their knowledge with performance based projects. – Provided
