1. Outdoor Rock on Ice
Get down (but don’t fall down) at Hayek Park for the annual Outdoor Rock on Ice. Come with ice skates, ready for DJ music, outdoor activities and hot chocolate. The event is free. You can rock on ice from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
2. Geneva Cancer Auction
Head out to Geneva for another shot at raffle prizes and an auction as the event raises money for cancer research. Raffle prizes include various cash prizes as well as a 48-inch television with a Blu-Ray player. The event runs from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Geneva Bar & Grill. Drawing for raffle prizes occurs at 10 p.m. Saturday.
3. Fundraiser and silent auction benefit
Burger baskets and a silent auction at Moose Lodge will help with medical and other expenses for the family of Jacob Johnson and Amanda Braund, whose son, Toren Johnson, died in December. Those wishing to attend can eat and bid from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
4. Immune support make-and-take class
Sick this season? Join the club. Those wanting to try using essential oils to boost their immune systems can attend a hand soap make-and-take class from 9:15 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Cabin Coffee. The class is $5.
5. Live music in Manchester
Chris Bertrand returns to The Bend in the Road for another performance of home-grown music described as poetic and honest. He was born and raised in southern Minnesota. Bertrand will play from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at The Bend in the Road.
