Albert Lea senior hopes to get hockey team to state tourney

 

Q: What grade are you in?

A: 12.

Q: What town do you live in, and which school do you attend?

A: Albert Lea, Albert Lea Senior High.

Q: Who is your immediate family?

A: Melissa, Dave, Lily and Luke.

Q: Which sports do you play?

A: Hockey and football.

Q: What is your favorite part of playing your sport?

A: The uncertainty. Any team can win at any given time. A goalie could be hot or vise versa.

Q: What has playing that sport taught you?

A: How to work hard. My work ethic stems from hockey.

Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?

A: Just recently we beat our two toughest section opponents, Rochester Lourdes and Mankato East, in the same week, and both in overtime. That was the pinnacle for me.

Q: How did you get started in your sport?

A: My family friend Alex Ulve always played hockey. I started because he played.

Q: What sports did your family members play?

A: Football, basketball and ran track.

Q: What are your sports-related achievements?

A: First Team All District, First Team All-Area both junior and senior year. Big Nine DB of the year finalist senior year. (Football) First Team All-Conference junior year (hockey).

Q: What are your sports-related goals?

A: My goal has always been to make it to a state tournament. Hopefully we can accomplish that this year in hockey.

Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete? Why?

A: Kyle Rudolph., tight end for the Vikings. The way he carries himself is awesome. I look up to him in many ways, even more so outside of football.

Q: What are your college plans?

A: I committed to the University of St. Thomas for football earlier this winter, so I will be going there. I plan to major in finance.

Q: What is your favorite school subject?

A: History.

Q: Who’s your favorite teacher?

A: Mr. Jeffrey

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I like to fish and golf.

A: Owner of the Dallas Cowboys.

A: “Stranger Things.”

A: I have a fake tooth.
