An Albert Lea woman was injured Monday when she struck a fence during a crash on Interstate 35 near Geneva.
Justice Ann Welsh, 21, was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with at least one injury deemed not life-threatening.
Welsh was driving a 2002 Chevy Malibu north on I-35 approximately one mile north of the Hartland and Geneva exit when she lost control of the vehicle in icy conditions, causing it to enter the ditch and hit the fence at 10:14 a.m., according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Welsh was wearing her seat belt, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash, the report states.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene.
