Dorothy was born April 19, 1932, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Chester and Rena (Rasmusson) Jorgenson. She graduated from Albert Lea High School and received her licensed practical nurse degree following nurses training.
Dorothy was united in marriage to George E. Boettcher in 1948. They had two children and adopted Kevin, making it a family of five.
Dorothy worked at a variety of jobs, but her love of nursing motivated her to be employed at Fountain Centers, Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea and St. John’s Lutheran Community. She enjoyed volunteer work and served on the board for the American Red Cross and volunteered for hospice, making lifelong friends. She was an excellent nurse, homemaker, artist, lover of animals and was known for her homemade fried donuts. She loved bowling, walks in the woods and spending time with her grandchildren. She was affectionately called Grandma Great.
