The Freeborn County Arts Initiative has announced its first show of 2019, “Theatre of the Mind,” a group exhibition of artwork exploring the connection between art and literature, according to a press release.
Submissions will be accepted at the gallery from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday or by appointment.
The artwork could be inspired by anything of the written word — a novel, poetry, a spoken quote, song lyrics or an advertisement.
“We’re really excited to have a visual representation of how art inspires more art,” said incoming FCAI president Marla Klein. “It’s a great way of passing on the baton.”
The show will be open to the public from Jan. 12 through March 2, with a closing artist reception from 5 to 7 p.m. March 2. The Freeborn County Arts Initiative gallery is at 224 S. Broadway Ave.
The exhibit is free to the public.
