Freeborn County under wind advisory

Freeborn County is under a wind advisory as northwest winds are expected to strengthen this morning, causing potentially difficult driving conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, winds in excess of 30 mph are expected with gusts of up to 50 mph.

The weather agency states strong winds can be a hazard to high-profile or lightweight vehicles and advised people to use extra caution.

Winds can also blow around loose objects, such as lawn furniture and garbage cans.

The advisory remains in effect through 9 p.m.

The advisory was also in effect for Blue Earth, Waseca, Steele and Faribault counties.
