Bitterly cold temperatures and more snow are likely on the way in the coming week.
Accumulating snow is expected to begin Sunday afternoon and continue through Monday afternoon along and south of Interstate 94.
The National Weather Service has estimated 3 to 6 inches of snow, though isolated higher totals are possible. Northwest winds will also lead to blowing snow and reduced visibilities.
The Weather Service states there is a 74 percent chance Albert Lea will receive more than 4 inches.
Wind chills will fall below 25 degrees below zero Monday night and will remain there through Thursday morning.
Wind chills of 35 to 50 degrees below zero could be possible between 9 p.m. and 9 a.m. those days.
The Weather Service warns that wind chills this cold could cause frostbite to exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
