No injuries were reported from a fire Monday at an abandoned home in rural Myrtle.

The Myrtle Fire Department and Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office responded to 15401 862nd Ave. at approximately 7:10 a.m. Monday and saw the abandoned home engulfed in fire, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The structure had no electricity.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office has been contacted to assist in the investigation, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The Glenville Fire Department assisted on scene.
