Attempted thefts reported

An attempted vehicle theft was reported at 7:33 a.m. Tuesday at 408 S. First Ave. A steering column was taken off, and wires were hanging. 

Someone reportedly broke into an apartment and stole items at 9:32 a.m. Tuesday at 212 S. Washington Ave. A suspect was identified. The incident allegedly occurred between Jan. 31 and Tuesday morning.

A child abuse/neglect report was filed at 10:23 p.m. Tuesday at 404 Fountain St.
