To growth at Albert Lea Diesel & Chrome.

Congratulations to Albert Lea Diesel & Chrome, which has plans to add 15 to 17 jobs over the next five years. The company, which was approved by the Albert Lea City Council on Monday for a $150,000 loan through the city’s Minnesota Investment Revolving Loan Fund dollars, is expected to add four technicians and service and parts managers. The funds will be used for new equipment for the company.

The business services commercial trucks, diesel vehicles and trailers, and offers emissions work, trailer repairs and RV services.

To warmer temperatures this weekend.

There might be some freezing drizzle in the forecast starting on Saturday night, but at least temperatures are rising above zero.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures were expected to hit 38 degrees on Saturday and 40 degrees on Sunday.

This is drastically different from the minus 33 seen Thursday morning.

We’re glad the extreme temperatures are done, but now we have to gear up for the potential winter weather next week.

To the Salvation Army providing a warming center during the bitter cold weather.

We appreciate the Albert Lea Salvation Army opening their doors to the community this week to people in need of a warm place to be in light of the extreme temperatures. Thank you for your community mindedness.
