All northbound lanes of I-35 reopened; I-90 open from Albert Lea west

The northbound lanes of Interstate 35 have fully reopened, though southbound I-35 between Albert Lea and Owatonna remains closed because of snow drifts and icy conditions, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Southbound I-35 south of Interstate 90 is open to Iowa, though MnDOT will have to temporarily close that portion of southbound I-35 in the coming hours because a vehicle will be removed further along the route to Iowa.

MnDOT states motorists traveling at this hour are using slow speeds to travel on I-35, as well as many roads in the region. The driving surface is rough and icy, and motorists should plan for significantly longer travel times.
