Fully Rely on God

People from Glenville, Myrtle, Northwood, Ellendale, Hartland, Maple Island, Albert Lea, New Richland and Blooming Prairie came to the Fully Rely on God Valentine’s Day Party on Feb. 2 at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church.

According to a press release, the food, fun and fellowship began after Wayne Indrelie brought in the Domino’s Pizza and Bob Hanson gave the table prayer.

After their meal, 12 games of Norwegian Bingo were played. The winners were allowed to pick a free prize from a prize table and purchase a white elephant gift for $1 before everyone else. Those who did not win were allowed to get gifts afterwards. Prizes not chosen were combined and sold, four for $1. Prizes ranged from Valentine’s candy, puzzles, a Minnesota Vikings football and Matchbox cars.

As a random act of kindness, Brad Bjerke and Bev Indrelie let a youngster replace them when they got a bingo, the release stated.

Ice cream with a choice of toppings was served after bingo was played. Door prizes were also drawn at this time. Winners were Larry Krohn, who won a teddy bear; Karen Erickson, who won a big stuffed dog; Tyler Iverson, who won a puzzle; Bev Indrelie, who won a teddy bear; Dale Mrotz, who won a snowman; and Emily Griggs, who won a photography session.

Each person in attendance was able to choose a Beanie Baby of their choice.

Valentine’s Day cards were signed for those who are unable to get out as much. More individuals signed the cards after church services, and they were mailed on Monday along with food coupons.

JoAnn Carlsen, who was an active attendee of Fully Rely on God events, passed away prior to this year’s event. In response, the decision was made to take her family pizza, Beanie Babies and some Perkins goodies. Her service was Feb. 4 at Central Freeborn Church.
