Locals compete in national Special Olympics bowling tournament

Several athletes from the local Unified Tigers and ROCORI Spartan teams, along with their unified partners, represented Minnesota Special Olympics in Las Vegas at the Special Olympics National Invitational Bowling Tournament March 5-8. In team competition, the Tigers placed fourth and the Spartans placed sixth. In doubles competition, the Tigers’ Lori/Trent Nelson earned bronze, Cody Olson/Kellen Kaasa earned bronze and Steve Olson/Taylor Shaft placed fifth. Spartans Karen Lincoln/Dylan Kortan earned silver and Kim Schlangen/Sam Steil placed sixth.
