Randall Friedrich

Randall A. Friedrich, 66, of Mulberry, Florida, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, during a recovery period after an accident.

Randall graduated from East Tennessee State University and received a Master of Business Administration degree. He had numerous management and administrative positions with several companies over the years, which included Allied Signal Aerospace Co. in Tempe, Arizona; General Dynamics in Camden, Arkansas; Burroughs Corp. in McLean, Virginia; Kilgore Corp. in Toone, Tennessee; and Enterprise Electronics in Dotham, Alabama. These jobs involved fighter aircraft, missile projects, infrared devices and ensuring compliance with federal and defense acquisition regulations. Randall contracted with a Japanese firm to teach classes of Japanese executives business-related English. During this time he also taught several classes of English to Japanese women. It was then that he met and married his wife, Mie.

He enjoyed many hobbies, including target shooting of various weapons — modern and antique, collecting black powder antique guns and restoring antique automobiles. He was even a licensed gun dealer in Phoenix. He also attended Hope Lutheran Church in Annandale, Virginia, and King of Glory Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Randall is preceded in death by his mother, Alice L. Friedrich.

He is survived by his wife, Mie T. Friedrich, of Mulberry, Florida; son, Allen B. Friedrich, of Phoenix; father, Albert H. Friedrich, of Williamsburg; and brother, Jay B. Friedrich, of Richmond, Virginia.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. March 30 at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Burial will take place at a later date at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Williamsburg.
