Four dogs and two cats reportedly died Friday in a house fire in Kiester.

Deputies were dispatched at 3:31 a.m. to 201 N. Third St. in Kiester, according to the Faribault County Sheriff’s Office. Four juveniles were reportedly in the home at the time of the fire but safely exited the house. They were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for observation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Kiester fire and ambulance departments, Walters Fire Department and Wells Police Department assisted on scene.

American Red Cross was contacted to assist the family with temporary housing, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office has investigated.
