Cattle on I-35 leads to crash that injures 2 from Canada

Two Canadians were injured Tuesday after a semi collided with at least one cow on Interstate 35 near the Geneva exit.

Lovepereet Singh, 24, of Edmonton, Alberta, and Gurshehbaj Singh, 25, of Edmonton were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with injuries deemed not life-threatening.

Lovepereet Singh was driving a 2013 Kenworth semi tractor south on I-35 when he was unable to avoid multiple cattle in the road, according to the Minnesota State Patrol, losing control of the vehicle and causing it to roll at 3:47 a.m.

At the time of the crash, Minnesota State Patrol advised there were seven to eight cattle walking on the road.

Albert Lea police, Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted on scene.
