Freshman Carly Hengester won first place in the 400-meter dash and second place in the 200-meter dash with times of 1:09.97 and 30.34, respectively. Senior Josie Einertson won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:40.00 and finished second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:43.54.

The sole field event to finish in the top three was senior Laura Hopperstad, winning the event with a throw of 97’11”. Sophomore Ruthie Conlin was the fourth Viking to win an event with a time of 1:20.13 in the 400-meter hurdles.

Junior Linsdey Davidson was second in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:48.25. Three relay teams came in second place for the Vikings. The 4×800-meter relay team of freshman Rachel Hill, sophomore Madelyn Berge, junior Maddy Shoger and senior Emily Follmuth (12:55.00); the distance medley team of juniors Jaela Parks, Clara Davidson, Lindsey Davidson and freshman Addy Bachtle (5:05.06); and the shuttle hurdle team of senior Laura Hopperstad, junior Peyton Pangburn and sophomores Conlin and Kayla Senne (1:17.45) all took second place.

“The girls did a great job last night in winning the Bob Sanger Relays in Britt,” said head coach Troy Einertson. “A lot of girls were running races they had never ran before and they all contributed to the teams win. It was very cold and windy, and we were competitive in every race.  It was a great way to start our season.”

The Bulldogs had three events take home a first-place prize, all three of which were relays — the 800-medley relay team of senior Lyv Arispe, sophomore Taylor Ingledue, junior Megan Groe and sophomore Brooke Bergo (56.09); the 4×200-meter relay team of Arispe, Ingledue, Groe and Bergo (1:59.12); and the 4×100-meter relay team of Arispe, Ingledue, Bergo and freshman Leah Moen (2:04.78).
