Local students graduate

Skyla Knudtson of Ellendale and Dustin Petersen of Albert Lea graduated from the University of Minnesota-Crookston after the fall semester.

Knudtson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in animal science and equine science.

Area students make dean’s list

The University of Minnesota-Crookston released its fall semester dean’s list. Among those honored with the distinction were Skyla Knudtson of Ellendale and Ben Schlaak of Hollandale.

To qualify for a place on the dean’s list, students must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average.

Ellendale student graduates

Amanda Buzzard of Ellendale received her degree in medical coding and insurance from the Minnesota State Community and Technical College. Buzzard was also listed on the president’s list for the fall semester prior to graduation. To earn the award, a student must complete 12 or more college-level credits for the semester and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Kensett student recognized

Amy Rollene of Kensett was named to Buena Vista University’s dean’s list for terms one and two. Students named to the dean’s list must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for the two terms and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.

Students receive chancellor’s award

Three area students received the chancellor’s award at the University of Wisconsin-Stout for the fall semester. The award is presented to students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

Those recognized with the distinction included Matthew Fruechte of Albert Lea, Kate Koestler of Wells and Linsey Thisius of Wells.
