Fire reported at Alamco

A fire at Alamco left the building with little damage and no injuries, the Albert Lea deputy fire chief reported Monday.

Albert Lea Fire and Rescue responded to a fire at the Alamco facility, 1410 West 9th St.  at approximately 2 p.m. Monday. Sawdust around a woodburner began smoldering and caught fire, Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Laskowske said. The fire was in an attic.

Laskowske said the damage to Alamco was “very minimal” and there were no injuries. Firefighters were cleaning up to leave the scene at approximately 3:30 p.m.
