Jimmie Cornelius, 1946-2019

Jimmie “JC” Mervel Cornelius, 72, of Beaver Lake died suddenly Sunday, April 28, 2019, at his home. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Community Lutheran Church in Geneva. The Rev. Kristen Venne will officiate. Burial will follow at Geneva City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bonnerup Funeral Services in Albert Lea.

JC was born Dec. 1, 1946, in Owatonna to Mervel and Bernice (Clemmensen) Cornelius. He graduated from Blooming Prairie High School and lived as a Freeborn County resident prior to moving to Beaver Lake.

On Feb. 20, 1965, Jimmie married Nancy Worrell in Geneva. He owned and operated Geneva Standard Station and also owned a Snapper Lawn Mower franchise. JC retired from Airgas as an account manager/salesman.

JC was a member of Community Lutheran Church in Geneva, a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and the American Legion. He loved going for rides on his Harley Davidson and his pontoon boat. JC also loved playing cards, reading and cleaning.

JC is survived by his children Tad (Bunny) Cornelius and Cheryl (Todd Ide) Cornelius; his grandson, Jordan Cornelius; his special friend, Kay Goodmanson; and many nieces and nephews.

JC was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy; and one sister.

Harley Davidson attire is welcome at the service.
