Nonprofit asks for donations

Ministries of Project Happiness is a nonprofit in Albert Lea that makes bandanas and durags for cancer patients and homeless individuals. It also helps the homeless with other needed items. According to a press release, the group is getting ready to go on a delivery trip, including California, which has the highest population of homeless people.

It is in need of a few donated items for the homeless, such as toiletries items — including toothbrushes, combs, soap and deodorant — wash cloths, bags of dry beans and elbow macaroni.

The group can pick up items or items may be dropped off at 1019 Autumn St. in Albert Lea. There will also be a fundraising event for the group from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, and donations can be accepted there as well. Items are needed by April 25.
