Freeborn American Legion Auxiliary

The Freeborn American Legion Auxiliary met at 9 a.m. March 16 at the Freeborn Legion Hall.

President Sandy Anderson called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance and the auxiliary pledge were recited. The charter was draped in honor of Betty Johannson.

The secretary and treasurer reports were given. Both reports were approved as read.

The poppy order has not yet arrived.

The group had not received a reply from the Boys State candidate or the Girls State candidates.

Anderson read from the gift shop report from the department news. At the April meeting, the group will discuss the comfort boxes they will be putting together. Also discussed was the possibility of doing a fundraiser in the fall. More discussion will be taking place in the future.

Anderson brought out the annual reports and all began the work of getting them completed.

She will put the finishing touches on them and mail them off.

It was announced that the Freeborn Sons of the American Legion will host a spaghetti supper on April 27. Proceeds go to keeping the flags flying in Freeborn.

The next Auxiliary meeting will be at 9 a.m. April 20 at the Freeborn Legion Hall. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
