Los Rebeldes

A local group is bringing new flavor to Albert Lea. Los Rebeldes is a band filled with family members, some of whom played through the late ’70s, while the group officially formed in the mid-’90s. Together, their specialty is Tex-Mex, or Tejano music, which is described as a combination of country, folk, rock ’n’ roll and polka blended together. Los Rebeldes will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Marion Ross Performing Arts Center in downtown Albert Lea. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at actonbroadway.com, by calling 877-730-3144 or at the door the night of the show.

Boathouse opens for the season

The Brookside Boathouse will open for the season Saturday. Summer boathouse hours are 9 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Individual participant costs are $10 each, or punch passes can be purchased for $25, which is good for five uses. Punch passes are good for rock gym and boathouse activities, which include climbing, kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, biking, hamboarding, bocce ball and croquet, among others.

Pelican Breeze cruises start for season
