Eileen Joyce Lammey

Eileen Joyce (Petersma) Lammey was born April 10, 1935, in Pella, Iowa, to Henry and Eve (Van Ekeren) Petersma. Joyce grew up in Pella and graduated from Pella High School. On Sept. 1, 1955, she was united in marriage to Doyle Lammey. The couple was blessed with three children. Joyce and her family lived in various places throughout the country, before Doyle’s work brought the family to Albert Lea in 1972.

Joyce was very family oriented. She worked at Maytag in Newton, Iowa, until she started a family, and then it was family first. She always kept a tidy home (everything had its place), was an excellent cook and her attention was always on her family. Hard thing is they always asked for recipes for her dishes and she always said, “I just throw it together until it was right.” Joyce enjoyed bowling, gardening and being a part of the Lioness Club.
