The Iowa golf season is winding down as both the Northwood-Kensett and Lake Mills teams competed in their regional meet Monday afternoon. The stakes were high as the top two teams and four individuals advanced to the regional finals Monday.
The Vikings pulled out all the stops, putting up their best performance of the year and winning the meet by six strokes. The Bulldogs failed to advance as a team, however, sophomore MaKenna Hanson won the meet with a score of 92, advancing as an individual.
Four athletes golfed for Northwood-Kensett and all four put up a score leading to the victory.
Senior Allie Carmen led the way posting a 97, earning her third place overall. Junior Alexis Halbach finished in a tie for fourth place with a score of 98. Freshman Emma Davidson shot a 100 and senior Julie Quisley a 111 to bring the total to 406, beating out St. Ansgar, which finished with 412.
