Blanche Wichmann, 1927-2019

Memorial services for Blanche Elayne Wichmann will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service. The Rev. Matthew Lehman will officiate. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
Elayne passed away peacefully Monday, June 24, 2019, at Prairie Senior Cottages in Albert Lea. She was 91.
Blanche Elayne (Reever) was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Viola Center, Iowa, to Lowell and Olive (Rhoades) Reever. She graduated from Bayard High School in Iowa and would continue her education at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines.
On Dec. 20, 1952, Elayne was united in marriage to Milton Wichmann in Glenville. Elayne and Milton owned and operated Larry’s Bar in Albert Lea. The couple spent 39 wonderful years together until Milton’s death in January 1992.
Elayne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. She also enjoyed being a member of the Eagles Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Lady Bugs.
She is preceded in death by parents Lowell and Olive; husband, Milton Wichmann; and sister, Loretta Barkley.
There are no immediate surviving family members.
A special thank you to the staff at Just Like Home Place and Prairie Senior Cottages for the care and attention they showed Elayne these last nine years.
