Ellendale’s annual celebration to span three days

ELLENDALE — The annual Ellendale Days are scheduled for Thursday through Sunday in Ellendale.

The party kicks off Thursday night with a taco feed at the Ellendale municipal building and a Christmas in June celebration at the Victor Mrotz building.

The Friday fun starts with a color run sponsored by the youth group at First Lutheran Church. The run will start in the park. There will also be food vendors, bingo and a street dance featuring the band Neon Live. The street dance will be behind the bar and has a cover charge of $5.

The festivities continue into Saturday with city-wide garage sales, as well as vendor markets and face painting by the Doc Misgen building. The Alzheimer’s Walk, sponsored by Ellendale Community Action Group, starts at Floors 4U at 9 a.m.

Softball tournaments begin at 10 a.m. at the ball diamonds and will feature the Lion’s Club food wagon. The parent/child bean bag tournament, located behind the bar, starts at 10 a.m. as well and will be followed by the adult tournament.

The parade begins at 4 p.m. with many family-friendly events to follow in front of the post office. Another street dance is scheduled for Saturday night behind the bar, again featuring Neon Live. There will also be a youth dance at the community building at 9 p.m.

The celebration winds down Sunday with the Lions Club pancake breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at United Methodist Church. There is also a tractor pull and motorcycle show Sunday next to the bar.
