Garage fire under investigation

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire in the garage of an unoccupied house west of Albert Lea Thursday night.
According to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a call at 71706 Freeborn County Road 46 at 11:09 p.m. for a light on in the garage.
When deputies arrived, they saw a fire within the attached garage, and Conger Fire Department was called to respond.
The Sheriff’s Office stated an initial investigation determined the home was unoccupied, and there was no electrical or gas service to the house.
It is unknown at this time what caused the fire.
Alden, Manchester, Clarks Grove and Albert Lea fire departments assisted at the scene, along with Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
