Albert Lea is beautiful this time of year, and if you are like my family, you are spending as much time outdoors as you can walking the lake, fishing, biking or going on picnics.

And June is the perfect time for the Freeborn County DFL annual picnic. If there’s one thing we Democrats enjoy more than talking politics, it is having a picnic on a beautiful June afternoon. And we would love to have you join us to do both.

On Thursday, the Freeborn County DFL will be holding our annual picnic complete with hot dogs, hot dishes, desserts and punch. There will be speakers and good conversation. And come and participate in our first early, early informal president straw poll: Sanders, Harris, Warren, Biden, Gravel and many more. You choose. That should be interesting!

So please come join us Thursday at Pioneer Park from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Bring a dish to pass if so inclined, and a free will offering is appreciated.
