Albert Lea Third of July Parade grand marshal named

Alden resident and World War II veteran Richard Thunstedt, 98, has been named the grand marshal for Albert Lea’s Third of July Parade. Thunstedt served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945 with a majority of that time being spent aboard the USS Salt Lake City. The parade is set to begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday and run from the Freeborn County Fairgrounds to Central Park. - Tyler Julson/Albert Lea Tribune
