Wireless World, a Verizon authorized retailer, will give out free backpacks filled with school supplies from 10 a.m. to noon July 27.
This is the second year of the company’s annual Backpack to School program. According to a press release, one of the business’s core values is to serve the community and it has several initiatives both locally and nationally that we participate in throughout the year.
The Backpack to School program is one that involves employees, customers and its vendor partners. Wireless World has initiated a company-wide employee program to donate backpacks as well as donations from guests in the stores. Each backpack that is donated at one of its 46 locations will be distributed to children in that local area.
The cost for school supplies increases more and more each year, and Wireless World would like to help make it a little easier for families to afford supplies and ensure students start off the school year prepared and confident, the release stated.
A child must be present to claim their free backpack. No purchase is necessary to receive a backpack. There is a number of limited number available, while supplies last.
Wireless World is at 140 Bridge Ave. across from Fountain Lake and can be reached at 507-369-5703.
