Geraldine Elaine Lageson was born Sept. 10, 1926, near Ellendale, to Edward and Lydia (Jensen) Lageson. She grew up on the family farm. Geraldine attended school in Ellendale and graduated in 1945. After graduation, Geraldine left her hometown to become a nanny in the Minneapolis area. Later, she worked at an insurance company. After a brief marriage, Geraldine moved back home to the family farm. She and her brother, Lowell, helped take care of their parents until their passing.
Geraldine was a strong woman. She loved the outdoors, wildlife, animals and especially the cats she had before entering the nursing home.
Geraldine is survived by four nieces and their families: Susan (John) Madson, Kathleen Mead, Cindy (Dennis) Jensen, Vicky (Clarence) Rousslang and Julie’s husband, Roger Ball; and several cousins.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lydia; brothers Marvin and Lowell; sister, Beverly; sister-in-law, Linda; nephews Eugene and Robert and Kathleen’s husband, Richard Mead; and niece, Julie Ball.
The family thanks the staff at Good Samaritan Society for their loving care for the last eight years that she had been a resident.
