Man injured in crash

An 80-year-old New Richland man was injured Monday night when his vehicle crashed on Minnesota Highway 30 in Waseca County.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, John Edward Gilster was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening.

The report stated Gilster was driving a 2006 Ford F150 eastbound on Highway 30 in Byron Township when he crossed the centerline, lost control and went into the north ditch. The vehicle came to rest in a plowed field.

The crash took place at 8:42 p.m.

The report stated Gilster was wearing his seat belt, and alcohol was a factor.

The Waseca County Sheriff’s Office and New Richland Fire and Ambulance assisted on scene.

 

Fraudulent check reported

A fraudulent check was reported cashed at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday at Trades and Labor Credit Union, 610 S. Broadway.

 

Car reported tampered with

Police received a report at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday of a car that had reportedly been tampered with at 915 Maplehill Drive.
