Maria Adams, 1942-2019

Funeral services for Maria “Linda” Adams will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Kurt Farrell will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service and again one hour prior to the service at the church.
Maria died suddenly Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. She was 77.
Maria Herlinda (Gonzales) Adams was born Feb. 9, 1942, in Uvalde, Texas. Maria grew up in Uvalde, graduating from Uvalde High School.
Maria married Gilberto Polanco Adams of Knippa, Texas. The couple spent many wonderful years together until his death in 1995.
Linda gave a lot of her time to others. She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, president of the Azteca Club, member of the Community Action Board and was a Crime Victims Crisis Center advocate. Linda enjoyed many things in life.
Her family remembers her for her amazing cooking — tamales being her specialty! She enjoyed watching all sports — the Minnesota Twins and Vikings were her favorite. Linda found happiness while dancing, cooking or going to the casino. She was always a happy, bubbly person with a great sense of humor.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto; both parents; sister, Lydia Garcia; sister-in-law, Mary Gonzales; and niece and nephews Rene Arizmendi Jr., Jackie Arizmendi and Benito Arizmendi.
Maria leaves behind her significant other, Roberto Resendez Vasquez; children Gilberto (Rosie Cedillo) Adams Jr., David Adams and Benito Adams; grandson, Anton Christopher Adams, and his son, Zayden; siblings Benito Gonzales, Angela (Cesar) Hernandez, Dora (Ruben) Mendoza and Mary (Michael) Reyes; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
