Names of city manager finalists released

The Albert Lea City Council has chosen four applicants to interview for the position of city manager, and the applicants’ names and bios were released to the Tribune on Tuesday.
Candidates for the position are:
• Willie Morales: Most recently served as the town administrator for Northfield, Massachusetts, where he was employed for one year. Prior to that, he was the town administrator for Monterey and Sandisfield, Massachusetts, for one year, and a city management intern for Hudson, Iowa, for two years. Morales has a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and a master’s degree in public policy.
• Brent Clark: Most recently served as the assistant city administrator/city administrator for Grand Island, Nebraska, where he was employed for four months. Prior to that, he was the city administrator/planning & zoning administrator for Broken Bow, Nebraska, for nearly four years, and the city administrator/clerk/treasurer for Dakota City, Nebraska, for three and a half years. Clark has a bachelor’s degree in public administration.
• David Todd: Currently serves as the city administrator for Pine Island, where he has been employed for four years. Prior to that, he was the city administrator for Lanesboro and a police sergeant/patrol supervisor for Maryville, Missouri, for 11 years. Todd has a bachelor’s degree in public administration, with a minor in criminal justice, as well as a master’s degree in public administration.
• Adam Thompson: Currently employed by Greater Muscatine Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the director of economic development, where he has been serving for over one year. Prior to that, he was the community development coordinator and airport director for Muscatine, Iowa, for nearly five years, and the Brownfields program coordinator for Coralville, Iowa, for over one year. Thompson has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning.
Interviews are tentatively scheduled for July 17 and 18, according to a city of Albert Lea press release. Candidates will interview with city staff and City Council. A meet and greet with the public will be held. Details on the timeline will be announced when finalized, the release stated.
