After the swearing-in, the board managers voted on officers for the next year.

The managers voted Delger to be chairman of the board, and manager Gary Pestorious was voted as vice chairman.

DeBoer will be secretary, and Bakken will be treasurer.

The board will approve the managers various committees during the August meeting.

In other action, the board:

• Heard an update from District Administrator Andy Henschel about the district’s insurance coverage.

Henschel said the district is switching from Security Insurance to Americana Insurance for some of its insurance coverage, though most of the district’s insurance is through the League of Minnesota Cities.

The district is looking for insurance coverage for the confined disposal facility sites tied to the dredging of Fountain Lake.

• Heard an update regarding the district’s efforts to sell its dredge and dredge pipe.

Henschel said he has been in contact with a representative from Iron Planet, the company helping to sell the equipment, and that representative has contacted all of the people who showed interest in the equipment and has gotten maintenance lists and other specs about the equipment to those individuals.

Henschel said it appeared there might be a few people flying into town to look at the equipment in the coming weeks.

• Listened to brief updates on various projects underway by the district from Resource Technician Courtney Phillips.

• Heard from Minnesota GreenCorps Member Claire Rabine about her accomplishments with the Watershed District since October.

Rabine is approaching her last day in the position.

She discussed outreach and education in elementary schools in the classroom, planting new trees, installation of rain gardens and the development of the Adopt-A-Drain program, among others.
