Woman pleads guilty to fraudulently using woman’s credit card

An Albert Lea woman pleaded guilty Wednesday in Freeborn County District Court to fraudulently charging more than $2,150 on the credit card of a home care facility resident who was previously under her care.

Becky Kay Kline, 57, pleaded guilty to felony financial transaction card fraud in front of Judge Steven Schwab.

Court documents stated Kline was charged after a complaint regarding credit card fraud was received. Court documents state the victim and power of attorney signed an affidavit indicating they did not give anyone permission to use the card.

Still shots and videos from two Albert Lea Kwik Trip stores identified Kline using the victim’s card 19 times between April 10 and May 20, 2018. She reportedly purchased scratch-off lottery tickets.

Kline is slated to be sentenced Oct. 11.
