The Scarlets recorded 15 shots on goal, with two of them finding the back of the net.

“(The team) competed at a very high level against a strong Mankato West program,” said head coach David Schultz. “We are upbeat, even though we lost ,as the Scarlets defeated No. 1 seed Orono last week in their season opener.”

The JV and C-squad teams were also in action Saturday. The JV lost its matchup 5-0 and the C-squad came away with a 4-1 victory.

The Tigers fall to 0-1 to start the season and played again Monday night in Byron. Look back to the Tribune for results from that match as they become available.
