Fair food review: Brisket nachos are a big hit in first year at the fair

Even though 2019 is its first year serving food at the Freeborn County Fair, Smokin’ Barrel Barbeque shot itself into the upper echelon of food vendors with its rendition of brisket nachos.

A bed of tortilla chips topped with the perfect ratio of shredded brisket, melted nacho cheese, sour cream, chopped onions and a jalapeno slice makes up the nachos.

Oftentimes, nachos can have some chips overloaded with ingredients and some chips with none at all. That is not the case with these nachos. The ingredients are spread evenly for the same great taste with every bite.

Smokin Barrel also has other delicious options, such as pork egg rolls and smoked mac and cheese. This vendor is a must for any barbecue lovers at the fair.
