Private memorial services for family and close friends will take place Wednesday for Rosalee Grace Ille of Albert Lea.
Rosalee passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at St. John’s The Woodlands in Albert Lea at 99 years young.
Rosalee was born June 14, 1920, to Julius and Grace (Kruger) Newgard in Little Rock, Iowa. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1938 and on Feb. 27, 1942, was united in marriage to Roger Ille. Rosalee loved gardening vegetables and flowers, boating, fishing, taking trips with Roger in their RV to California, winter home in Florida and flying to Germany to visit their daughter, Linda. She also loved doing cross stitch, latch hook and sewing. She was a meticulous housekeeper and loved conversing with acquaintances.
Rosalee and Roger worked together at Club 90, which they owned together in Alden for several years. Rosalee enjoyed spending time and seeing her son, Larry, every day. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and oh how she loved her dog, Pepper. She will be missed by all who knew her — especially her family.
“She will never be forgotten, and she remains in our hearts,” her family said.
She is survived by her son, Larry, and his wife, Deanna, of Albert Lea; grandchildren Stephanie Johnson and husband, Jay, Laura Kuethe and husband, Douglas, Cheryl Christenson and husband, Aaron; grandchildren in Germany: Johannes, Thomas, Andreas and Marcus; great-grandchildren Matthew and Johnathan Fethke, Samantha, Breanna, Alyssa, Taylor and Collin Kuethe, Khyzer Christenson, and Magdalena, Jakob, Johanna, Jonathan and Maria Mosmann; and son-in-law, Heinz Mosmann, of Germany. Also surviving are nieces Theresa Newgard and Fidelis Atkinson and their children in California.
Rosalee was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; daughter, Linda Mosmann; and her grandparents.
