The Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce board of directors announced Wednesday it has parted ways with Executive Director Rhonda Jordal.

The board will begin searching for a new executive director immediately.

A news release stated staff members Geri Jensen and Liz Johnson are committed to minimizing any disruption in services to chamber members, with the support of the chamber board, until a new director is hired. Planned events and initiatives are expected to continue as scheduled, including the efforts to seek Main Street designation.

“We value our chamber members and look forward to continue our mission of promoting and developing a healthy and positive business climate in the Albert Lea-Freeborn County area,” said board Chairwoman Tricia Dahl in the release.

Board member Catherine Buboltz said Jensen will act in the capacity of interim director with support of the board while the board evaluates the need for an official interim director.

“We are hopeful that we will have the position filled within the next three months,” Buboltz said.

Jordal had worked in the position since June 2018. She replaced former chamber Executive Director Randy Kehr, who died in November 2017.
