Dealership owner pleads not guilty to charges

Timothy Brian Mann, 44, of Albert Lea pleaded not guilty Thursday in Freeborn County District Court to one count of prostitution, engage in a public place, and one count of prostitution, hiring or agreeing to hire in a public place, both gross misdemeanors.

Mann is accused of offering to forgive a woman’s late car payments in exchange for sex acts.

The woman had reportedly purchased a vehicle from Mann’s dealership, Mann Motors, in April 2018.

She reportedly captured audio of part of the conversation on her phone.

In court Thursday, Mann was released on his promise to appear at his next court hearing, which is slated for Dec. 12.
