Oral “Orrie” Shoff

Funeral services for Oral “Orrie” Irene Shoff will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.
Orrie passed away peacefully Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, at CottageWood Senior Communities in Rochester, where she had been a resident for the past 10 months.
She was born to Alf and Mina (Thorpe) Larson in Superior, Wisconsin. Orrie attended schools in Superior and Ellendale and graduated from Hayfield, where her father was principal. She attended Augsburg College, where she graduated with a teaching degree. She later earned her bachelor’s degree from Mankato State University. After first teaching in Wanamingo, she taught elementary education for over 30 years in Albert Lea.
On June 8, 1952, Orrie married Niles R. Shoff in Storden. Together they raised eight children in Albert Lea.
She is survived by her children Greg (Sally) Shoff of Hastings, Michigan, Susan (Mike) Zmyslony of Moose Lake and their children Jenna and John, Cindy (Rick) Steinberg of Eagle Lake and their children Garrett (Anastacia), Caylin, Kalli and Camryn, Laura Brink of Springfield and her children Nicholas and Coltan, Mike Shoff of St. Louis Park and his children Ben and Lauren, David (Laurie) Shoff of Rochester and their son, Peter, and Christopher Shoff of Albert Lea. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Lois Larson and Geyne Shoff; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Niles R. Shoff; parents Alf and Mina Larson; son, Brad; brother, Don Larson; and brother-in-law, Willis Shoff.
With her family by her bedside, they remember her for her strength, dedication and love. She will be in their hearts forever.
