The Retired Educators of Albert Lea will meet for lunch at noon Thursday at the Albert Lea American Legion.

According to a press release, Albert Lea Area Schools Superintendent Mike Funk will update the retirees about the summer projects nearing completion and the implementation of the district’s anti-violence measures. 

Those who have not been contacted by Monday and would like to attend, may call Ann Berry at 507-373- 6004 to make a reservation. Last-minute reservations calls must be made by 8:30 a.m. the morning of and cancellations are appreciated by that time as well.

Newly retired educators are especially encouraged to attend to become acquainted with the organization and renew friendships with former colleagues, the release stated.

Albert Lea Area Retired Educators Association of Minnesota is the local organization of retired educators that is part of the state group, Retired Educators Association of Minnesota. Both provide opportunities to socialize and to keep abreast of legislative issues affecting health and pensions.
