A 61-year-old Kensett woman was killed Sunday afternoon after a crash in Worth County.

Peggy Julseth was reportedly driving a 2017 Nissan Murano westbound in the eastbound lane on 410th Street near Jonquil Avenue at 2:55 p.m. when her vehicle struck a 2003 Dodge Ram, driven by Curtis Johnson of Lake Mills, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

The State Patrol report indicated Johnson attempted to avoid hitting Julseth’s vehicle but was not able to do so.

Both Julseth and Johnson were transported to the hospital, where Julseth later died.

The crash remains under investigation by the State Patrol.

The Worth County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Northwood and Mason City fire and emergency services personnel assisted at the scene.
