Letter to the Editor: Column was not concerned with civility

In response to Aaron Farris’s My Point of View column, if a person thinks one side gets to be unapologetically and boisterously “anti-PC” while the other side should be civil and polite in response, then they’re really making an argument about power and who gets to exercise it.
Check out the recent history of the right wing Tea Party and their disruptions of town hall meetings, and Trump’s outright trashing of political correctness (i.e. civility toward all, not just those with power).
If a person supports Trump after the way he has relentlessly smeared individuals and groups with ad hominem attacks and lies, they’re less concerned about civility than with keeping disfavored people quietly in their place.
