Why we need the tariffs with China: We are sending China about $500 billion dollars more than it purchases from us. They are using that money to build up the largest military in the world. They will have a parade in early October where they will show it off. They are also very friendly with Russia. Together they will be a force to be that may challenge the U.S. and our allies. President Bush tried to get them to revalue their currency, and they did nothing. President Obama expressed “the United States welcomes the rise of China.” Congress during the last 30 years has done nothing as they watched millions of our jobs (lots of them union) leave for China. President Trump is trying to get them to balance the trade dollars, which is something we need. I understand it is going to cost us more, but we need jobs here and I do not trust China.
