It is estimated that the average American moves up to 11 times over their lifetime, according to a press release. How can Albert Lea ensure that it is on the radar for those looking to move and be a place where people want to stay?
To explore these two questions, the Albert Lea Economic Development Authority partnered with the University of Minnesota Extension to utilize tools from a program called Marketing Hometown America. According to the press release, the process involved community members participating in small group discussions, which met four times over the last few months. The groups took an in-depth look at the community and what makes it a great place to live and generate ideas to make it even greater.
The study circles will reconvene with a community action forum from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Edgewater Bay Pavilion in Edgewater Park. A meal will be provided.
Community members are invited to attend the forum to hear ideas that each group generated for marketing and community enhancement. Participants will vote on the ideas and there will be opportunities to volunteer for different community action projects as well.
The public is invited as the group wraps up this portion of the program and identify community projects to move forward with. This is a public community event, so no reservations are required.
